Connie Li, Caribbean Honduras

Connie Li is a young woman currently backpacking through Central and South America, who has completely fallen in love with the island of Utila. Originally from Brisbane, Australia; Connie plans on traveling the rest of the world.  Connie Li es una joven mujer mochileando por Centro y Sudamerica quien se ha enamorado completamente de la isla de Utila. Originalmente de Brisbane, Australia; Connie planea en viajar por el resto del mundo.  Initially Connie came to Utila to scuba dive and get her PADI open water certification which consists of three main phases:  Knowledge Development to understand basic principles of scuba diving,  Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills and  Open Water Dives to put those skills to use. WHY MANGROVES? | ¿PORQUE MANGLARES?


Mangroves are this decade's top eco touristic destination. They are elegantly tall and quite peaceful to tour, all you hear is the sound of birds and the mangroves. Mangroves exist in the tropics and subtropics. They are incredibly important or the ecosystem because they help against catastrophic climatic events such as big waves, tsunamis and they reduce big storms. 

 Los manglares son el destino eco-turístico de esta década. Son elegantemente altos y muy pacíficos para dar un tour, ya que lo único que escuchas es el sonido de las aves y el manglar. Los manglares existen en los trópicos y los subtrópicos. Son increíblemente importantes para el ecosistema ya que estos ayudan encontra de eventos climáticos catastróficos como ser olas muy grandes, tsunamis y reducen las tormentas grandes. 

WHY TOUR MANGROVES?

  • THEY ARE SURPRISINGLY RECREATIVE
You can take either a stand-up paddleboard or a kayak and paddle into one of nature's most wonderful gifts to islands. The shade they give make it even more enjoyable to tour them as it does not feel as hot during the summer time. 

  • IT IS EDUCATIONAL
Have you ever been told that mangroves are swamps infested with mosquitoes? That is totally FALSE and actually is one of the biggest misconceptions that exist about mangroves. During a tour you will be explained why they are so important for an island's ecosystem and what they give back to it. 

  • QUIET AND PEACEFULNESS
Mangrove areas are usually very quiet and peaceful, they are known to bring tranquility to tourists, especially to those who come from big noisy cities. This type of forest is so still you can enjoy the sound of nature. 

June is 26 is International Day for the Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem -UNESCO 

¿PORQUE HACER TOUR DE MANGLAR?


  • SON SORPRENDENTEMENTE RECREATIVOS
Puedes llevar tu tabla de SUP o tu kayak y remar hacia uno de los regalos más maravillosos que la naturaleza le dio a las islas. La sombra que estos dan hace que hacer un tour en ellos sea aún más disfrutable ya que no se siente tanta calor en tiempo de verano.  
  • ES EDUCACIONAL
¿Alguna e te han dicho que los manglares son suampos infestados de mosquitos? Eso es totalmente FALSO y en realidad es una de las misconcepciones más grandes que existen acerca de los manglares. Durante un tour te explicaran porque son tan importantes para el ecosistema de una isla y todo lo que estos aportan para ella. 
  • SILECIO Y PAZ
Las áreas de manglar son usualmente muy calladas y pacíficas, se conocen por traer tranquilidad a los turistas, especialmente aquellos que tienen de grandes ciudades bulliciosas.
